The Battle for Middle Earth II: Deluxe Edition intends to deepen the BFME 2 experience and make the game more interesting. That is partly done with these modifications:

  • All factions have a 3-level technology tree. That means that you have to buy 2 global upgrades (levels) to enable more advanced structures and units.
  • All factions have new units and heroes
  • The whole mechanics of the game have been changed so balance doesn't depend so much on the rock-paper-scissors system anymore.
  • Siege becomes more important. Mordor gets walls, and fortresses, walls and structures in general are much tougher.
  • The Lord of the Rings feeling and other good stuff from BFME 1 will be brought back
  • CAH has been balanced a bit

This mod is no longer being worked on, but you can still download the latest public alpha below (0.50 too, but that version really has nothing). Also, all models from the mod are available for your use (if you get permission from TheDeadPlayer/@Tik).

final release? there is no final release, the latest beta is sort of the final release (as in, it's not finished, but it won't be more finished than that)

the latest version works on the latest patch but i dont find this mod interesting :P

soulscammer - Monday September 3, 2007 - 3:39

Ok thanks, but 1 more thing 2playgames. the final release doesn't work on the latest version of the game, is that normal? Cause the last beta works with 1.06 (that's the 1 i'm playing). Or is it just me and my game?

In commandbutton.ini, find the buttons for building a fortress, and remove the

Code
NeedUpgrade = Upgrade_TechLevel3
line

I like this mod really cause the units, nice tech gameplay with that tech upgrades :). But I have 1 problem (it isn't the mod), when i play missions you spawn with builders (not a fortress) and u need to build one, but you need a higher tech and tech onley can upgrade in fort :s. Can some1 explain me (i'm new in modding but know how to edit) where i change the fortress to tech 1 or something so i can build one when i don't have 1 (like in missions) Thanks. This mod is teally worth your download. (nice new units)

Bart (Administrator) - Thursday August 23, 2007 - 14:01
