The River pass is a dry, wooded grasslands that provides one of the few passagges over the Great river.
This is my third map and it is based on the Great river towards the top of rohan, i know the great river is big but i decided to make it smaller to make more room to build. There are two signal fires in the corner and two outposts gaurded by trolls. There are two plateus things by the main cross over point of the river which gives not to much but not too little height advantage to defend. There are two smaller cross over point on the river one more to the right of the middle and on to the left. There are enough trees for harvesting and some places are good for cover.

The terrain and textures look very realistic also... im not really sure if that good or bad as it should look like some kind of fantasy. But anyways i felt like this could have been real nature as i played this map
Pros +Great Texturing +Living Enviroment +Wild Animals +Good use of terrain - Eleveation works in fights +Good AI +Gollum Random Spawn
Cons -Water Ripples are off -Why the use of multiple rivers? -The rocks in the river are a bit out of place
Definatly alot better then anything you've done prior; and it seems only the river needs some more work. I did notice a few textur 'overlaps' under the water, maybe those can be adressed while working.
As per agreement (to call it such) here is the map with the mini-map done up. (Though its not hand drawn as I am working on for Moons of Menira, this is my first try at it...so)
Nicely done, cuz. This is a solid map. Everything seems to be in place and working pretty well. It looks pretty, sounds pretty, has Gollum, and is alive.
The only things that I'd recommend: Some of the impassables still need to be cleaned up (You knew I was going to say that, though, didn't you?) Red is right about the rocks in the river. And Walls could probably be put in for the AI, but now we're nitpicking
Red, the multiple rivers technique is how EA makes theirs. The ocean object allows for reflections and the river object makes it flow correctly. Having a different river object at each ford allows you to slow the river flow speed down so it looks like it can be crossed.
i noticed when testing one of the ripples is way out of place i just totally forgot to change it dam. Lol yea i had an idea u might say that about the impassable patches longbottom i tried it would be better than the other maps though. thanks again red head for the mini map sucks that since i dont have photo shop i cant do that, all though i have tried it with the gimp i find that they dont look too good.
well LongBottomLeaf here has helped me a great lot in learning out to hand draw my mini-maps... so i can do the same for yours... (less longbottom wants to )
this is the same map just with cool looking mini map now thanks to redheadgirl(thanks again) for making it. it is also on the first post aswell now replacing the first downloadable river pass.
As a note I will be hand drawing mine and wats up cuz's mini-maps (untill such time as he can do his own). Here is a screenshot of what his new mini-map looks like.
