Age of Numenor is set in the time of the Numenorean Kings
starting at the beginning of the 2nd age and ending with the failing of the Royal line in Gondor.
It includes the Last Alliance, the wars of Angmar the wars of the Easterlings and the battles between Umbar and Gondor.

The mod has 6 factions including -

Men
Elves
Dwarves
Wildmen
Evilmen
Orcs

Each of these will have 2 X-Factions (except the Orcs who have 3) unique to that faction.Allowing for varied game play. Each Faction and X-Faction has it's own strengths and weaknesses some X-Factions will improve the strenghts of the factions others may address weakness it's your choice or you could choose the middle ground.
The Mod will get many new units and heroes from the time period.

The entire mod will have new original designs different from the Weta style.A lot of attention is being put into design in this mod.
Some of the new Heroes include
Isildur,Elendil,Anorien for Numenor
Glorfindel,Elrond,Gil Galad,Cirdan for Noldor
Amroth,Oropher for the Wood Elves
Eorl for Northmen
Sauron for Mordor
Witch King for Mordor
Durin for Khazad Dum
Ar Pharazon for Black Numenor

Each faction will start off with a "town centre" and 2 builders.
The Town centre provides the X-Faction upgrades.
The builders start off with a limited build list once the X-Faction upgrade is purchased the builder can build the special Faction buildings.

A new system will be added to AON called the Age System.
It is an automated upgrade system. Here's how it works
When you purchase your X-Faction time will start to pass.
As time passes you go into different ages of the people.
As the ages progress the faction changes and units will change and improve with time.
Each X-Faction will have 3 ages.

Noldor - Lindon,Mithlond,Rivendell
Wood Elves - Mirkwood,LothLorien,Eregion

Lindon and Mithlond should be one thing, and Eregion was Noldor realm;)

Bart (Administrator) - Tuesday June 19, 2007 - 9:09

those aren't the factions that will be added, they are the factions that will be there in the end.
in other words, the other 5 factions will be removed/replaced

Guess Who - Monday June 18, 2007 - 20:31

isnt mordor already in bfme 2
