A handy tool, the WinRar program can compress a file much like a ZIP. The difference is that the .rar files tend to be smaller which makes for shorter upload and download times as well as less bandwidth usage. Generally not useful for full releases since not much of the public uses them, but very nice for in-house betas and other file transfers between mod team members.

Note on download: you will likely want to download the latest version for English 32 bit from the middle section (it is updated frequently so a direct link won't work). If your system is a 64 bit then obviously you'll want to get the English 64 bit one but you probably already knew that.

You probably could mention that Winrar also can compress things into a zip file. You also do not need to pay for Winrar. Once the "trial" period is over, simply cancel the popup subscription box and you can use the program.
