The last few pages have shown you how to go from AVI to VP6, and how to successfully how your videos ingame, but you may also like to view the videos, and watch the campaign all over again :)

Converting the video

TKelly figured out how to use the EAConv.exe program, command-line based, that Siberian_GRemlin had gifted us with.

Start by making a new folder called "videos" (no quotations obviously) at the root level of any drive (C:\ being the one used in this tutorial). It's rather hard to change folders with the Windows Command Prompt, hence the use of the root folders.

Extract "eaconv.exe" to the C:\videos folder, and copy the video file that you want, to the C:\videos folder, EALogo.vp6 being the one we will use in this tutorial.

Run the Windows Command Prompt by going to START, and then RUN and in the box type "cmd".
Now type the following, without forgetting to type ENTER after you are done with every line:

Code
cd C:\videos
eaconv EALogo.vp6

The last command should launch the conversion process for your video. Wait nervously for the conversion to be over, and go to the C:\videos folder once it's done.

In it it should have eaconv.exe, EALogo.vp6, and EALogo.avi !

You may directly open this file in any video player, since the VP6 codec is installed on your computer.
Make sure you convert it to another codec using VirtualDub if you wish to share it, since not everyone has that codec.

Embedding the audio

However, and as you should know, the audio is still separate from your video. Site webmaster, and The3rdAge.net Admin 2playgames wrote a small guide on how to include the audio with your video.
You'll need to find the audio file in EnglishAudio.big (check for its name in speech.ini if need be), and using Audacity, convert it to wav.

Open the avi video with VirtualDub, and select Audio->Wav audio to embed the wav audio file to your video.

You may now export the video to AVI again, to find a full pledged video, with audio included.

"as well as selecting the VP6 0 format when encoding to ensure that the alpha is supported"

Don't you mean VP6 1 for alpha? If I'm not mistaken (and correct me if I am), VP6 0 is the one that doesn't support alpha, that's why palantir videos use VP6 1.

Great tutorial! I'm going to be making my own videos for my mod, so thanks for the information on it. I didn't think that it would be this complicated!
