First off, I'll tell you that not all powers will be as easy to port as the example I am going to use.

The following two power types are tougher to convert:

- Weapon toggle
- Special weapons/attacks

Sadly these two include many abilities. It is quite likely possible to convert the weapontoggle, but I'm not entirely sure if the second is possible (without removing other abilities that is). When I know more, this guide will be updated.

Stealth is also a bit different, but that one requires only a small addition and will be covered in this guide.

I've assumed that you...
...have read the beginner tutorials, which explain the basics of modding.
...have some knowledge about how normal powers work. (Useful, but not really required if you follow the steps.)
...know how to change strings on buttons.

Ok, now you know that, let's start with the guide. As I said, I'm keeping this simple. We will start by converting the 'Outlaw Leadership' of Eomer into a level 1 'Men of the West' CaH power.
After we've done that, we'll change it into a 3rd level power, that can only be selected after getting the standard level 1 CaH leadership.

Weapon toggles and special powers/attacks require some additional coding in other files. Perhaps I will make an advanced guide on them when I know more about them.

Nice tutorial.
Can you help me in something? I am new in the site and I want to create a new ability for create a hero archers. It would be a passive ability that increases the range and attack speed of the bow. I noticed that I can do it in weapon.ini and I tried creating a new weapon based on the CreateAHeroBasicRangedWeapon. As soon as the hero gets this new ability in game I want to update this CreateAHeroBasicRangedWeapon to my new weapon object . Is this even possible? Tried it in but the program don't really accept anything

I need some help with my project, I'm making a goblin create a hero, I have him in the Servant of sauron area and I need to add Mount/Dismount Scorpion & Toggle Weapon. If you could help me that would be great (I have a forum file in the BFME2/RTWK section the goblin one talking about adding the Goblin Fiend)
