In this tutorial, I'll explain how to code a unit so that when it's built, it will already have all of its upgrades.
This method can be adapted several ways, but for the purpose of this tutorial, only units that are built by a Hard AI will have their upgrades granted. This can be a quick and easy way to make the Hard AI more challenging. Although it won't offer the same depth that editing the AI scripts could. And this is a beginner's tutorial, designed for people who either don't understand the AI well enough to edit that, or are simply unwilling to deal with the tedious but rewarding nature of editing AI scripts in BFME. On the third page I'll show how all units can be built, fully upgraded, regardless of who builds them. |
